Susu Closet
Modest fashion is not a category most store templates are built for. The structure had to make sense to a customer shopping for an abaya and a swimsuit in the same visit.

The Client
Susu's Closet is an Australian modest fashion label selling hijabs, abayas, modest swimwear and everyday clothing. Its positioning is explicit: coverage, comfort and sophistication together, rather than modesty treated as a compromise on style.
The range spans price points from $10 accessories to full garments, which means the store has to work both for a quick repeat purchase and for a considered one.
The Brief
Build a browsing structure that reflects how the customer actually shops. Generic apparel categories do not accommodate hijabs, caps, abayas and modest swimwear without either burying them or making them look like afterthoughts.
Carry the brand voice through the store. The proposition is as much about being understood as it is about the garments, and a purely transactional storefront would lose that entirely.
Keep it operable by the owner. This is a small label — inventory, pricing and new drops need to be managed day to day without developer involvement.
What We Built.
Eleven-category structure
Dresses, jackets, skirts, pants, tops, abaya, basics, hijab, caps, swimwear and accessories, plus a live sale section — modest-specific categories given equal standing rather than folded into a generic apparel taxonomy.
Product catalogue with variants
Items carrying multiple options and price ranges where they apply, with live low-stock indicators that create genuine urgency on a small-batch range.
Brand-led homepage
A featured-items rail over a clear statement of what the label stands for — design for modesty and style, fabric quality, versatility, and community — so a first-time visitor understands the brand before they see a price.
Owner-managed storefront
Built on Square Online so inventory, pricing, new arrivals and sales are managed directly by the owner, with payments and stock handled by the platform rather than by custom code that would need maintaining.
Australia-wide online ordering
A straightforward purchase path aimed at customers anywhere in the country, which for a niche label is the entire addressable market rather than a local one.
