Apex Engineering

Ten engineering disciplines under one roof needed a website that made each one findable on its own — without fragmenting the firm into ten separate stories.

The Client

Apex Engineering Corp is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm based in Sydney, delivering civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire services alongside stormwater and flooding, remedial works, ESD consulting and digital engineering (BIM), across Australia.

That breadth is the firm's core proposition — a client can bring an entire project to one consultancy rather than coordinating six. The website had to communicate that without becoming a wall of undifferentiated capability statements.

The Brief

Present a multidisciplinary practice in a way that reads as depth rather than dilution. Prospective clients rarely search for 'multidisciplinary engineers' — they search for a stormwater consultant, or a remedial engineer, or a BIM partner.

The site therefore needed a structure where each discipline stands on its own as an entry point, while the navigation keeps pulling visitors back to the fact that the other nine exist.

What We Built.

A dedicated page per discipline

Each of the ten expertise areas gets its own page rather than a bullet on a shared services list, broken down further into the specific sub-services inside it and the design stages a commission moves through — so each discipline carries its own copy, its own terminology and its own claim on search results.

A thirty-project portfolio

Thirty delivered projects, each with its own detail page, giving the firm somewhere to demonstrate work rather than describe it — the evidence that matters most in a market where selection is frequently based on comparable experience.

Clear engagement path

A Connect section that keeps the enquiry route short from anywhere on the site, rather than burying contact behind a multi-step form.

Professional visual identity

A restrained, technical design language appropriate to a consultancy whose clients are principals, builders and government — credibility over decoration.

Credentials as text, not just logos

Fourteen accrediting, licensing and member bodies — Engineers Australia, CPEng, Consult Australia, FPA Australia, the Green Building Council and the state building authorities among them — are rendered as readable text alongside their marks, so the site's strongest trust signals are legible to search engines and not locked inside a marquee of images.

Prerendered for search and speed

Every route ships as static HTML with structured data, generated social cards and responsive image variants all built at compile time — so the site is fully crawlable and fast without a server assembling it on each request.

A private reporting dashboard

Behind authentication sits a read-only dashboard pulling live Google Analytics, Search Console and PageSpeed data, plus a monthly care-plan report that assembles itself: work delivered is read from the site's own commit history and sorted into plain-English categories, combined with that month's traffic and search figures, and exported as a real vector PDF. The client's monthly report is produced without anyone writing it.

Enquiries handled server-side

The contact route runs through the firm's own cloud function rather than a third-party form service, so enquiry data stays inside infrastructure the client controls.
